- After finding out that they have a tax debt of forty thousand euros, four very out-of-shape men working at a car shop start to train for a marathon in which they can win the money to pay the debt.
- Multiple perspectives paint the picture of the horrible disease of cancer with children in the Netherlands. One non-profit organization initiated a mission of a 100% survival rate. This is the story of how that mission is unfolding.
- In October 2002 the first political party worldwide which doesn't base its policy on human-centric thinking is founded. The Party for the Animals represents a new political movement that values animal welfare and the environment.
- We were very fortunate in securing unique pictures of the great Marathon race at different points along the course, showing the heroic efforts of the contestants to win the coveted prize. The first picture shows athletes in parade before the Princess of Wales and suite and the start at Windsor Castle. The next view is taken at Wembley, where Hayes and Dorando are lending, while the rest of the contestants follow the game little American, who appears to be as fresh as at the start, while the others are dropping out exhausted. Next we see them at close range entering the Stadium, Dorando first. Just as the latter reaches the track, however, he goes down in a heap, but is quickly assisted to his feet and fairly carried by the attendants over the tape. Then along comes Hayes, and finishes without the aid of anyone, and seems to have plenty of vitality to spare for a longer distance. The distribution of the prizes is the next picture, and we see the Queen at close range as she presents the well-earned rewards to the proud contestants. When Hayes very modestly steps up to receive his he is fairly carried off his feel by his admiring friends, who place him on a table while four sturdy fellows bear him aloft before the thousands, proudly waving the Stars and Stripes.
- Director Geertjan Lassche follows top athlete Michel Butter and his trainer in the mental tunnel of concentration before, during and after the marathon. Lassche gets the unique opportunity to capture one of the toughest sports in the world from the inside during the Amsterdam Marathon. Michel Butter, the third Dutchman ever to run a marathon under 2 hours and 10 minutes, has been trained by Guido Hartensveld for 15 years. They had many highlights, until Michel was hit by a serious injury in 2013. He and his coach fight back, both physically and mentally. The Amsterdam Marathon should be the culmination of a long process, with a come back from Michel at the top and a qualification for the Olympic Games as a reward.
